Frequently Asked Questions for
Level 1 and Level 2 Virtual Courses

Level 1 and Level 2 Virtual

AWho is the Essential Wet Lab Virtual Course For?

Veterinarians and Technicians

BWho is the Extraction Wet Lab Virtual Course For?

Veterinarians Only

CWhat is the main difference between the Essential and Extraction Virtual Wet Labs?

The Essential Wet Lab is an Introductory Dentistry course that focuses on the training of the Vet and Tech alone or the Veterinarian-Technician team to become familiar with various procedures and clinical aspects of veterinary dentistry. This course will eliminate the frustrations with case management, dental radiographic technique positioning and interpretation, periodontal care, and nerve blocks, among others.

Although you may attend as a vet or a tech alone, we recommend that your Veterinarian/Technician dentistry service team take this course together for maximum value and impact for your hospital and your patients.

The Extraction Virtual Wet Lab is the brand new version of our past Virtual Extraction Wet Lab and builds on the knowledge and skills from the Essential Virtual Wet Lab. Upon registration, you get 5 hours of RACE approved video instruction and 7 hour RACE approved online course to access immediately and master prior to coming to the actual lab. The Extraction Virtual Wet Lab is conducted at the comfort of your own practice with our virtual instructors guiding you. The Virtual Wet Lab then utilizes that knowledge to provide a day of clinical wet lab instruction, much like its Live Course counterpart during Sundays, to round out the skills needed by veterinarians to excel in veterinary dentistry in general practice.

DAre Veterinarians required to finish the Essential Virtual Wet Lab before proceeding to Extraction Virtual Wet Lab?

It is recommended but not required that Veterinarians take the Essential Wet Lab Virtual or Essential Wet Lab Live.

Please note: We strongly recommend that either your technician or you AND your technician take Essential Wet Lab Live or Virtual if your dentistry service is not running smoothly in the areas below:

  • • Radiographic Technique and Positioning
  • • Basic Radiographic Interpretation
  • • Nerve Blocks
  • • Hands-on Periodontal Instrumentation and Technique
  • • Client Education and Home Care
  • • Dentistry Service Setup, Anesthesia and Pain Management
EAside from the Essential Wet Lab Virtual Course, what similar courses are considered to proceed to Extraction Wet Lab Virtual?

One whole day of lecture and hands-on wet lab in practical clinical veterinary dentistry provided by a Technician with a VTS Dentistry Specialty degree or AVDC diplomate. Critical topics covered by similar courses must include the topics below:

  • • Radiographic Technique and Positioning
  • • Basic Radiographic Interpretation
  • • Nerve Blocks
  • • Hands-on Periodontal Instrumentation and Technique
  • • Client Education and Home Care
  • • Dentistry Service Setup, Anesthesia and Pain Management
  • • Fun and interactive Q and A throughout on these and other topics
FIs Extraction Virtual the same as the Virtual Veterinary Dentistry Extraction Weekend Course that you have done the last several years?

The new Extraction Virtual Wet Lab takes the lecture from the past labs and puts it into a 5-hour and 7-hour RACE accredited courses that you access immediately and is yours to keep and refer back to for life. These are prerequisites to be completed prior to Saturday day one.

This leaves all day on Sunday for nothing but hands-on dog and cat extractions utilizing the skills that you have acquired from Essential Virtual Wet Lab, the 5-hour and 7-hour online courses.

Not only do you get 4 more hours of CE than the previous format (20 vs 16) you have much more hands-on time in the wet lab. You also keep the 5-hour and 7-hour online courses that before was the lecture provided throughout Saturday and Sunday
