This RACE accredited virtual dentistry course trains the Veterinarian and Technician team to be among the best in veterinary dentistry.
(This course does not require a veterinarian and technician to both attend. This course accepts veterinarians as well as technicians.)
Lecture and Virtual Wet Lab Schedule
The Wet Lab portion of this course will be Virtual and can be
in your practice, in your home, or your location of choice.
Morning Session
9am – 12pm
1. Dental Radiology: What Lies Beneath with hands on positioning
This will be an in depth discussion of the importance of dental radiology within the dentistry service. Positioning and troubleshooting to achieve a diagnostic image will also be covered. This lecture will also include radiographic evaluation and common pathologies.
Afternoon Session
12:30pm – 3:30pm
3. Advanced Periodontal Therapies and Hand Instrumentation
This lecture will discuss the physiologic process of periodontal disease and treatment therapies that can be implemented in the general practice dentistry service. The identification and proper use of hand instrumentation during periodontal therapy procedures will be outlined. Effective client communication for improved client compliance will also be discussed.
2. Dentistry: Making It Work in the General Practice
This session will include a discussion on creating a streamlined and efficient dental service. Overcoming hurdles, improving workflow, and establishing long term implementation of effective practices to achieve a high standard of care for the dental patient will be covered
4. Regional Nerve Blocks
Regional nerve block administration in the canine and feline patient including agents, dosing technique, benefits, and application within the dental service will be covered. Specific anatomy to identify landmarks for safe and effective delivery of regional analgesia will be discussed.
Instructor:
Annie is my Dental Technician of 11 years. A world renowned speaker, she has published multiple articles for technician journals and has co-authored a textbook in dentistry specifically for technicians and has taught and lectured extensively around the country with me.
Her experience includes emergency and critical care, anesthesia, orthopedic surgery technician, and dentistry. She received her VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in Dentistry in 2008 and has served as President and Credentials Chair of the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians.

Roadmap Virtual Wet Lab is a comprehensive and actionable Introductory Dentistry Virtual course that focuses on training the Veterinarian and the Technician to become familiar with various procedures and clinical aspects of veterinary dentistry.
It is strongly recommended that the vet/tech dentistry team attend
and go through this course together for maximal impact.
Extraction Virtual Wet Lab is the brand new version of our past Virtual Extraction Wet Lab and builds on the knowledge and skills from Roadmap Virtual Wet Lab. Upon registration, you get 5 hours of RACE approved video instruction and 7 hour RACE approved online course to access immediately and master prior to coming to the actual lab. The Extraction Virtual Wet Lab is conducted at the comfort of your own practice with our virtual instructors guiding you. The Virtual Wet Lab then utilizes that knowledge to provide a day of clinical wet lab instruction, much like its Live Course counterpart during Sundays, to round out the skills needed by veterinarians to excel in veterinary dentistry in general practice.
It is recommended but not required that Veterinarians take the Roadmap Wet Lab Virtual or Roadmap Wet Lab Live.
Please note: We strongly recommend that either your technician or you AND your technician take Roadmap Wet Lab Live or Virtual if your dentistry service is not running smoothly in the areas below:

One whole day of lecture and hands-on wet lab in practical clinical veterinary dentistry provided by a Technician with a VTS Dentistry Specialty degree or AVDC diplomate. Critical topics covered by similar courses must include the topics below:

The new Extraction Virtual Wet Lab takes the lecture from the past labs and puts it into a 5-hour and 7-hour RACE accredited courses that you access immediately and is yours to keep and refer back to for life. These are prerequisites to be completed prior to Saturday day one.
This leaves all day on Sunday for nothing but hands-on dog and cat extractions utilizing the skills that you have acquired from Roadmap Virtual Wet Lab, the 5-hour and 7-hour online courses.
Not only do you get 4 more hours of CE than the previous format (20 vs 16) you have much more hands-on time in the wet lab. You also keep the 5-hour and 7-hour online courses that before was the lecture provided throughout Saturday and Sunday
