this is a 30# 8YO Min Pin mix that presented for COHAT. She had heavy calculus, but was particularly unusual was the large amount on both vestibular and lingual/palatal. Here are (some) of the xrays. I am particularly interested on your opinion of the mandibular PMs. THere appears to be root/crown resorption on most/all of these teeth…however once cleaned the teeth looked great, probed normally. the only defect I could find was just under the gum line on the distal root of 307. On xray I also think the root canal is widened in some
My second concern was the 410/310 mesial root..both seem to have widened PDL (but both sides strangely symmetric) and the mesial roots of 109/209…again widened PDL space, but symmetric… 110 definitely needs extraction and possibly 210 as well…All these teeth were good color, normal probing depths (except defect at 307) not loose.
Extract?? Owner is very reluctant..I am scheduling an appt just to discuss films with them and give recommendations that hopefully they will follow..
what do you think I should recommend? I’m tending to thinki 109/110, 209/210 need extracted…and possible 307, but not sure of other mandibular PMs.
