Sublingual granulomas are not uncommon in small breed dogs, and recognizing the signs early is essential for effective treatment. Left untreated, these lesions can continue to worsen, leading to significant oral discomfort and feeding difficulties. Educating veterinary teams about identifying chewing trauma and implementing surgical solutions ensures better long-term outcomes and improved quality of life for patients.

This 10 year old dog has severe bilateral subliqual granulomas or chewing gum lesions.  Tissue proliferates progressively due to trauma from chewing.  Excision is the treatment of choice.
