This extra tooth (supernumerary) resulted in periodontal disease due to crowding.

Note the bone loss on the distal aspect of the right mandibular first molar (409)

Peridontal Disease and Tooth Resorption in a Cat with Extra Teeth

This was bilateral and the left mandibular molar had tooth resorption as well and periodontal bone loss.  Surgical extractions of the molars and the supernumerary teeth were curative.
