Ok, so I need some confirmation.
Cody is a MC 8 1/2 YO JRT. I have only seen him once prior to dental (In December). He came to me with a history of 1 month prior being treated by another local vet for bilateral swellings under eyes that the vet thought were tooth root abscesses and they improved on Clavamox.
He has no oral pain on exam, teeth had moderate tartar, no excessive halitosis.
We did his dental on Monday. His mouth looked really good. He had mild gingivitis, a full mouth of teeth. I took and retook xrays of 108 and 208 bc of history and not being confident. Attached is pics and several of those films (I have more!). Pocket depth was less than 3 mm around these (and all) teeth. I can't convince myself that he needs extractions, but on some of the pics it seems like generalized bone loss on distal root of 108 compared to 208, but I'm not sure that it is not just artifact.
what do you guys think?
How often would BILATERAL tooth root abscesses happen in a great looking mouth AT THE SAME TIME????
