I would love some feedback on a complication I had today. I was extracting 104 due to resorption. The apical portion of root had no clearly defined periodontal ligament space. I drilled approx 2/3 to 3/4 of the root and then elevated. The tooth came out with additional bone attached at apex which caused an oronasal fistula. This has never happened to me before. Was this due to poor technique on my part or due to the root and bone “becoming one”?
