Hi Guys,
Here is my update on Jessie – the 8-year-old Golden Retriever – with the intraoral mass.
As suggested, she came in on Monday for radiographs and biopsies. The radiographs revealed a destructive neoplastic process in the rostral maxilla centred around tooth 103 [posted]. The tooth was loose, and the remnant of the crown was removed [posted[.
Fine needle aspirates taken from the mass demonstrated clumps of mesenchymal cells, and the histopathological diagnosis from the biopsies was that of an osteosarcoma 🙁
I have referred the dog to an oncologist next Monday, and I shall let you know the outcome.
Thank you for your contributions to this case.
With best wishes,
David
