Please can you give me your thoughts regarding this case that involves an 11-year-old neutered Rough Collie bitch, Katie.
When Katie was presented in March for her annual health assessment I detected a focal area of erythema above tooth 104.
The area has slowly increased in size. The overall condition of the teeth was grade 2 with some early gingival hyperplasia.
The tooth was assessed on Friday under general anaesthesia. Radiographic assessment revealed slight changes to the tooth root at the site. Initially I biopsied the lesion, which enabled me to palpate the bone beneath and it felt roughened.
I surgically extracted the tooth, and have kept the biopsy back before sending it for histopathology whilst awaiting your comments.
As always, thank you for your input it is much appreciated.
With best wishes,
