Why is anesthesia free dentistry not that bad and why should you care?

Before I was a board certified dentist I was in general practice

I spent 11 years cleaning teeth and only extracting mobile teeth that were blatantly mobile. I didn’t have the equipment or the training to take radiographs let alone interpret them. So there was no way that I could treat those poor patients the way that they should be treated.

So I was practicing Anesthesia Free Dentistry under anesthesia!

The problem is that most veterinarians still today do not know how to look at dental radiographs and make quick treatment decisions. So patients are cleaned, maybe loose teeth are extracted but all else is left again anesthesia free dentistry under anesthesia! This includes all of the tissue debris, foreign particles (hair, grass, calculus, food) that is left in the empty socket.

That is exactly why I wanted to share this radiographic interpretation online training for the veterinarians. It will help you to make more efficient and less stressfull decisions for optimal treatment of your patients oral disease especially periodontal disease.
