This lecture
and wet lab focuses on feline dentistry, oral
surgery and radiology. Periodontal disease, surgical
and non-surgical extractions, FORL’s, stomatitis and
diseases of the feline oral cavity are covered in
lecture and significant time is spent in the wetlab.
Radiographic positioning, technique and
interpretation are approached in a novel
teaching approach that simplifies veterinary
dental radiography for cats. Both digital and
film developing are discussed. Participants
utilize state of the art digital imaging systems
to obtain immediate feedback from positioning in
the lab.
Lecture and wet lab are conducted in the
Veterinary Dental Continuing Education Center where each
participant has his/her own high speed delivery
system and equipment.
Attendance is limited to the first 8
registrants. This program is intended to provide
15 hours of accredited continuing education. A
procedure and radiographic positioning CD and lunch
are provided.

This lecture and wet lab is
extremely practical, providing the veterinarian with
the skills needed to treat the majority of dentistry
cases seen in practice daily.
DAY 1
This lecture and wet lab will focus on gross and
radiographic anatomy and physiology of the oral
cavity as it relates to periodontal pathology,
subgingival curettage, closed root planing, envelope
and releasing flaps for open root planing,
perioceutic and synthetic bone placement, case
approaches to periodontal disease and treatment
planning.
DAY 2
This day involves a short lecture
and extensive wet lab that will focus on the latest techniques to
facilitate less traumatic extractions by utilizing mucoperiosteal
flaps, line angle incisions, sectioning, bone
removal, bone contouring and suturing.
Lecture and wet lab are
conducted in the
Veterinary Dental Continuing Education Center where each
