Aluminum Oxide Burs

  Dr. Beckman,

Thank you for the link to the newsletter.  I have a question after coming back from the institute and trying to get some new equipment.  When using Arkansas White Stone burs is there a preferred size?  I found 3 FG sizes and a couple are RA and I’m not sure what the RA is. We would probably be using them primarily to smooth a fractured tooth if it is a closed fracture etc.

I appreciate your time.

Hi Jennifer,

Glad to hear from you.  We use the bullet flame for that application, but all personal preferrence.  Below is a link to Dr. Wiggs book on Google books about burs for an idea on shapes.  How did you like the NAVC Institite?

Anyone else care to add anything?
